Moving this talk to the chat list since it's getting off topic.
I guess we've all heard of Helen Clark's speech by now. Most interesting to me has been it's the first time I've noticed someone in government actually raise the issue of data caps and uplink speeds. This seems rather promising IMHO.
I suspect Telecom's timing of announcing their plans yesterday was not just coincidental. I guess they must be quite worried now since it clearly failed. When the PM slags you off in her opening address it can't be good...

Their press release neglects doesn't say much. I guess they're hoping their behind the scenes efforts will.
